Game Idea Pacland (working title)

First topic message reminder :

I'm making a platform version of pacman. It won't be just a normal pacman but platform game there will be stuff like land mines and turret guns trying to destroy you. It's in 640x480 resolution and 16-bit colour for a retro look, runs smoothly.

I'm not sure how this is going to turn out, so tell me now if I should continue making it or not.

I don't really have an idea for a story, but it starts off the old retro blue look then becomes real. Some ideas I have are:
Pacman realises gaming technology is getting way better so he tries to catch up.
Pacman somehow went to another dimension where there is gravity.
Pacman discovers there are way more dots in the gravity realm then the topdown realm so he goes there to get them.
Pacman... idk.
Ghosts hid all of pacman's dots in the platform realm and he goes to get them back.

I need some more story detail.

That's an excellent idea Sparx. I think that there should then be levels where you can control the Pacman and you have to catch the ghosts.

Hang on I got confused, I missed out a word and I "think" everybody missed something, do mean:

1. You play as pacman navigating through 2D mazes to catch the ghosts while being chased by a giant pacman on steroids yourself.

OR

2.You play as one of the ghosts who have to navigate through the 2D mazes while avoiding the giant pacman on steroids.

I actually meant the second idea but the first one doesn't seem bad either.

I'm saying that there should be both kinds of levels. Some you play as Pacman. others as Ghosts. Each would have different gameplay so it would add some variety and fun

oh I see, so maybe the ghost levels could be set up as a "BONUS LEVEL" or "MINI GAME"...
