Clone Warfare (working title)

I'm making a new tds. It came to me after reading a star wars battlefront review. So, here's the idea:
<note: it's not exactly star wars. i wanted mine to be a unique world altogether>

features planned:
-upgradeable character
-unlockable weapons and equipment
-multiple campaigns and skirmishes where you can earn credits for unlockable items
-possibility of vehicle combat

more features will be added as i go along. so far i only have a bare bones engine with mouse-look aiming,rotations,wasd movement and health system. right now im also trying to put together an enemy ai engine that doesn't feel too linear/random

i'll show a screenshot once i put the stuff together and if anyone is interested.

Long time no post.

I actually have a backstory made out for this game now. The game is set in 200x something. the government created a project to create clone soldiers to handle high hazard missions. You take the role of a squad leader in control of a 3 man team of operatives.

more details will be fleshed out as i go on with the game

Right now, i was wondering if anybody can provide tilesets for the game. I've been trying to make them as detailed as possible in 16x16 and/or 32x32 trying to emulate cs2d's graphical style.

so far, i'm *trying* to make the following:
-Urban exterior (City Streets)
-Urban interior (offices,banks, houses anything for a present day interior)
-Industrial (Every shooter has these now)
-Outdoors (Desert,Forest,Swamps)

Character sprites are no problem since i use cs2d's as a template. but for the tilesets, hoo boy is it gonna take a while.
So if anybody can help out, much help will be appreciated and be advertised throughout the game depending on the amount of assistance provided.

I'd also like to have somebody's thoughts on the whole concept of the game so far too.

Seems pretty good, there is alotta stuff you could do. Just a qyestion though. What do you mean by "cs2d"

Oh... yeah, it's counter strike 2D it's a TDS version of counterstrike made by unrealsoft. it's WAY good too, even has it's built in map editor and modifiable player sprites just like in counter-strike. Thought a lot of people head of it though. It's worth the 20Mb download.

Alrite, that clears it up.

I have an idea for gameplay: You should be able to command you troops in your squad, as well as letting them work automatically. For instance, you could command someone to attack a turret from behind while you kept it distracted from the front.

yeah, i was planning on creating a waypoint system like that. you can choose to let the troops do "Free for all" or follow a dynamic waypoint that you create by using the right mouse button. the behavior changes depending on the type of waypoint and where it is placed. like if the waypoint chosen is a defensive type and is placed behind some sandbags, the soldier in that area stand ground and only fire defensively.
